At Alpha Manufacturing, we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of British engineering. We combine cutting-edge machinery with the expertise of a highly skilled workforce.

Our Press Brake team is a perfect example of technology and expertise coming together. It is an essential part of our operation, where engineering drawings become precision-folded components ready for the next stage of production.

Mastering the Machines

Our Press Brake Operators are more than just machine operators – they’re interpreters of drawings, creative problem-solvers, and passionate engineers.

Here’s an insight into some of the members of the Press Brake team to give you an idea of what makes them tick.

Kenny Basford brings a meticulous approach to his work. Trained on-site by TRUMPF, Kenny specialises in interpreting engineering drawings and bending sheet steel to exact specifications. He credits the investment in cutting-edge TRUMPF machinery for streamlining processes, improving accuracy, and reducing scrap. “No day is ever the same,” Kenny says. “I love the variety and the technical challenge of every new job.”

Adam Gramatyka, with over a decade of experience, has completed comprehensive training across TRUMPF BendCell and Press Brakes, Salvagnini, and Amada systems. Adam thrives on the precision his role demands. “Each project requires detailed attention and problem-solving. It’s what makes the work so rewarding,” he explains. With a passion for 3D printing and AI, Adam’s interest in innovation and engineering solutions perfectly suits Alpha Manufacturing.

Kieran Buxton has spent nearly 11 years in fabrication, with the last three dedicated to his role at Alpha Manufacturing. Alongside TRUMPF training, Kieran also holds qualifications in mechanical engineering and fabrication. “I enjoy thinking outside the box,” he says. “There’s a real sense of pride when you tackle and nail a difficult job.” That dedication recently earned him The HEX Group’s ‘Extra Mile’ award, with Kieran’s colleagues putting him forward for the award due to his care, attention and commitment.

Alex Saunders brings a blend of energy and curiosity to the team. Having also completed Alpha’s Manufacturing’s intensive four-day TRUMPF training course, Alex quickly made strides in the role. “Every job is essentially ergonomic with metal,” he says, reflecting on the satisfaction that comes from working with precise tolerances. His hands-on involvement in programming and continuous improvement exemplifies his forward-thinking approach.

Investing in technology and people

Our investment in cutting-edge Trumpf machinery continues to empower our team with tools that enhance setup speed, accuracy, and flexibility. But more than just the machines, it’s our people who truly drive performance.

From automation-ready press brakes to intelligent tooling systems, our Press Brake team knows how to get the best out of the technology. Whether it’s Alex’s focus on adjusting dimensions to the nearest micron or Kieran’s drive to master every machine on the floor, our people are constantly learning, adapting, and evolving.

Beyond the Factory Floor

What makes this team truly special is who they are outside of work. Kenny sits on the British Board of Boxing Control and dedicates his time to a national charity. Adam spends his time experimenting with AI and 3D printers. Kieran dedicates his free hours to home renovations and quality time with his daughter. Alex, an explorer at heart, can often be found fixing cars, playing guitar, or simply enjoying the outdoors.

At Alpha Manufacturing, every fold tells a story. It’s a story of collaboration, skill, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
